We’re also continuing with a number of entrant assistance programs in 2012, including the student assistance program, submission mentoring and entrant workshops, so each entrant will have the maximum chance of success with their submission.

In the Major Festivals and Events category, Floriade 2010 – Imagination: where will yours take you? took out the gold award ahead of South Australia’s Santos Tour Down Under, which received silver, and the Melbourne Fringe Festival, which took out bronze.

The National Convention Centre was awarded gold in the category of Meetings and Business Tourism with the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau taking silver, and Shoal Bay Resort and Spa in NSW being awarded bronze.

Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre was awarded bronze in the category of Tourist Attractions, a great result up against The Magic of Jenolan (gold) and the Alice Springs School of the Air (silver).

We would also like to acknowledge all the businesses and events that entered the Awards this year. The entry process for the Awards is an excellent business development tool, giving all entrants the opportunity to continually improve. We had an exciting range of entrants this year, and hope to see many more enter the 2012 Awards.

We do, however, recommend you have your submission completed well before this date, to allow for any last minute hiccups!
